Haircut....

Sorry it took me long than I had planned. I am sure you are all dying in anticipation... Its really not that big of a deal but I was sure excited and kind of feel like a not so Mommish Mom, (does that make sense?). Let me know what you think, and I apologize for the pictures, there is a reason why we pay to have these done for us!!

This is right before we left, the last picture of the polygamist hair, really I felt all I needed was a braid and a purple pioneer dress and I'd fit right in.

I HAVE BANGS!! I haven't had bangs since I was about 8 or 9 and they started about half way back on my head, thanks Mom I know that they WERE cool at the time!! Good 'Ol 80's!! But I really do enjoy them, we'll see if they last!!!

Not much change in the back, about 8-10 inches gone though, (depends on what part of the jungle you measured he he). It just finally looks good!!

Thanks again Michael, if anyone is in need of a great haircutter and a good laugh at the same time let me know, he is fabulous. The best scalp massages in the world, plus I am pretty sure he was more interested in Chad the other hairdresser than Connie or Me so I reassured Matt it was ok that another man was massaging my head!

Connie-- I had such a great time with you, a few straight hours for us to just chat, something I don't feel we do much anymore, between the wedding plans and two children!! I am so excited for you and can't wait till August!! WE LOVE YA!!!

how rude of me....

My birthday was a few weeks ago, actually almost a month ago, and I forgot to say what a GREAT day I had. So because I am still thinking of it, and I enjoyed the whole day, I am going to bore you all with a flashback to MAY 22, 2008.:

I turned 26 this year. And I can honestly say this was one of the best birthdays I have ever had. I told my Dad, I use to laugh when he'd say,"Oh its just another day, I forgot it was my birthday." As a child and teenager I thought to myself, "Yeah right, who forgets their birthday." Well this year I almost forgot.
That was until my fantastic family especially my very thoughtful (and very handsome i might add) husband spoiled me. The day started out great, Milo and Saige both slept in, as if they knew it would be such a treat for Mom to sleep in a bit. (OHHH THANK YOU KIDDOS). We just played that day and I had such a great time.

I received phone calls and texts from so many great friends, some i haven't spoken with in ages remembered me on this day!(WOW is all i can say, good for you guys!!) It really made me feel good that I have so many thoughtful people in my life. The neighbors, our best buddies, the Barneys brought me a yummy rice krispie cake!! Thank you by the way, I can attribute the extra large "dimple" on my thighs to that cake! After Matt got home he tried to play a trick on me. He told me he bought me some new floral pots, some of the ones he previously bought had died. He made me close the blinds so he could hang them up and I wouldn't peek. As I walked around the corner of the garage he had a BIKE waiting for me! Totally shocked and amazed, I just smiled and laughed, I had no idea this was coming. I had talked about it LAST summer, and he remembered! Its so perfect THANK YOU!!

He then took me out for dinner. He wouldn't tell me where we were going but just said dress nice. THANK HEAVENS, that means we are not going to Wingers!! ( Matt had a slight addiction to their wings for a bit, I'd be happy if i never went back!) He drove through Holladay and we ended up at the Boulevard. Oh my yummmmmmy!! A full on 5 course meal, no screaming children in sight, and actually a moment where I could speak and just smile with Matt. We had such a good time!! Thank you Scott and Lisa for watching the kids!! That alone is a great present!

The next night my family joined all together and we went to dinner at Cafe Trang. What an amazing group of people we had there. We just all sat, ate great food and had a fantastic time, at least I did! So thank you all-- I had a great day and would be happy if this was the last birthday I ever had, for more than one reason!!

And this is the reaction I got when I asked Saige to smile. Just like her Dad!

Yummo......

Milo loves rice cereal!! For those of you who may find this boring I apologize but I was quite excited for Milo to begin this next step in life. Our family LOVES good food, well everyone but Saige (that would require her to sit for longer than 5 minutes). Milo ate quite a bit, but what do you expect from a 17 pound 4 month old. OH I LOVE CHUBBY!!

Yard work....

So I feel that I haven't properly blogged for a while, now that there are no Jazz games keeping me up late and stressing, I haven't made a moment to sit. So here I am both kids asleep at 2:00 in the afternoon, leaving me a moment to think about....my husband. Can I just brag for a moment?? Every time I step out into our yard, I am reminded how hard my husband works, we have the cutest yard (he'd kill me if he knew i said our yard was cute).

Backyard

(Out the front door)
Often times at church or neighborhood functions I am asked what we do to our yard to make it so green and lush. Little do they all know, I would be the last to ask on the subject. Growing up I looked at yard work as the worst thing you could ever do, I would beg my Mom to let me do ANYTHING in the house to get out of yard work. Now my outlook has changed a bit, its still not my favorite thing, but seeing the fruits of matt's labor has changed my opinion. He is so good to come home water the flowers, and clean up the trash that the Lehi winds brought in, and he just so perfectly arranges things that makes our yard look so great.

(These are our peppers, Matt has become Farmer Smith, also planting corn, tomatoes, broccoli, pumpkins, and squash. YUMMY YUMMY SUMMER FOOD!!!)
Last Saturday he was changing some of the sprinkler heads, and I was just so amazed at how quick and effortlessly he did everything. I knew Matt was great at what he does, but it just reaffirms my thoughts of him when I can see him and his talents in action. And I wish I had better pictures for you all to see what he can truly do, he builds the most amazing waterfalls, he makes them look as if you moved your house right next to a natural river and forest. We are so lucky to have a great husband and dad to make our family look like we know what we are doing. So THANK YOU Matt for the fabulous house and yard. Saige and I love sitting by our water rock and listening to the water splash on to the cobble, all while we are eating our oranges and watching the boys across the street play on their tractors. You make our life wonderful!! WE LOVE YOU!!! Oh and Mom for the record-- I don't hate yard work anymore, its not that bad, and the little that I currently do is kind of therapeutic so now I see why you have enjoyed it for so many years, take out that frustration on those dang weeds.

( I love this tree, when we moved in it was so sad, hardly had leaves and just looked neglected NOW its loves us back)

(This is our basalt rock, its core drilled and has a pump that pushes water out the center and makes lovely sounds for Saige, Milo and Me to enjoy, it also brings perfect strangers to our yard, taking pictures, one day I will take theirs back!!)

Dannit......

Well I am not quite sure where to begin. This is our where i'd insert a confused face- Mixed in with a little bit of disappointment, sadness, and shock. The blame could go out to so many aspects of the game, but what it boils down to is the Lakers wanted it more, and Kobe (as much as I don't want to admit it) is AMAZING. I truly feel 17 is now my unlucky number, I have never thought that there was ever an unlucky number for me but now I do. No matter what happened, it felt like the Jazz couldn't get passed a 17 point deficit. They would slowly get a few points closer then I'd blink and it was back down to 17, THE NEVER ENDING 17 and then tried playing catch up ALL GAME LONG!!! That was until the last 5 minutes of the 4Th quarter. Jazz started scoring, had their best defense of the game, and actually got pretty close to tying/winning, but it just wasn't their game. I must say I still had a good time and was so grateful for Jen, who did her darnedest to get those tickets (GREAT JOB JEN!!) but man how much would I have loved to see the Jazz take this thing. I will still love the Jazz, and maybe they are just waiting for us to buy season passes to take the championship, and then they will show the world how great they really are. Thanks Beau and Jen for coming with us we had a blast, (even the beer all over my legs was exciting!!) And thank you Candace and Connie for watching the kids, and chickens.
