any suggestions?...

I am NOW, yes it is late almost midnight, deciding that I am BORED with my house. I am wanting a change, a change that costs little to NO money, and a lot of effort. The biggest problem is I like things like this:

Fun bright colors, vintage pieces, things that I feel reflect more parts of ME!!

These are the things that Matt likes:

HMMMMM, how in the world does one combine two different styles, allowing the others likes to be there without looking like an elk/deer/bear fell into 15 buckets of paint...
Oh well, maybe it will slowly creep in the house, I will start in the kitchen and see where it goes from there... wish me luck.
If you find me and my eclectic mix of housewares outside, you will know who won. Any suggestions, please share....

  1. DO what you like! Chris and I had this battle a couple of years ago. Guess what.....I won. He says I am the home maker, so I get to do what I want. The only bad part is he has less of an opinion now!! Yikes! Oh well, I love my apartment, wish home, it's full of tons of color. DO COLOR!! Heath you will love it. And it will grow on him.......xoxo

  2. I love the cute style you have. So unique and so adorable! I would start with one room and get it the way you want, then let matt have one room and go from there...

  4. I think your "case" is a perfect submission for designer Nate on the Oprah Show.

Seriously though, I don't think it would be too hard to find a good marriage of styles. I really think it is do-able. I'm not sure how in the price range you mentioned, but you may already have a good skeleton to begin with.

  6. I think you should give Matt a "man room". (Or cabin by the looks of his style.)

That way he has a place to retreat to. Other than that, I think you have fabulous style and you should put it to good use.

(Or I guess there is always the vintage outdoorsy look.. an elk head with an Anthropologie hat?)

  7. Jon and I have this problem since his MOM pretty much decorated our house. :) But all of that is going in the basement if we ever finish it... then I get to do what I want upstairs!

I say do what you want. He can have the garage.

  8. Check out bhg.com - I get emails a couple times a week with different decorating and recipe ideas. That's actually how I got the idea for my room. If nothing else, it's a good way to kill time! :)
